How We Work

Our Process – From Enquiry to Support

Curious about what to expect? We have a five-step process that ensures you get the right support, whether you need occupational therapy, speech therapy or one of our other therapy services.

Step 1

Tell us About You, Your Child or Your Care Recipient

15-min online form
It’s easy to get started with us. You can send an enquiry, call us or email our team for help.

Or if you’re confident you want to go ahead with one of our therapists, you can go straight to our detailed questionnaire here so that we can start to learn about your child and how we can support them.

Over the next couple of days, our therapists will review your answers. Then we’ll be in touch via phone/email (so keep an eye out for our emails and check your junk mail!) to confirm whether we’re a fit and organise the next steps.

Step 2

Initial Consult

60-min phone session + 30-min future planning
To officially begin your therapy journey, our admin team will contact you to make an appointment with the therapist that best fits your needs. During this consult, your therapist will discuss your current support needs or the needs of your child or care recipient in more detail and make some initial recommendations.

Step 3

First Face-to-Face Session

70-min session
(50mins face to face and 20mins for clinical documentation)
Attend 3 x in clinic sessions - this will allow your therapist to gain insight early on and complete an Interim Support Plan, which will help your understand our service and plan for your or your child’s or care recipient's therapy journey.

Step 4

Formal Assessment

70-min sessions
(50-mins face to face and 20-mins for clinical documentation)
If you or your child or care recipient needs a formal assessment, your therapist will use an upcoming session to explore your strengths and challenges or that of your child or care recipient to help provide insights before setting goals.

Step 5

Interim Support Plan (ISP)

70-min clinical documentation
Before we can set some goals, we’ll develop an Interim Support Plan (ISP) to make sure we’re all on the same page with what you or your child or care recipient really needs. This written document provides you, parents or caregivers with an overview of findings from the Formal Assessment, and maps out the next steps in your journey. It communicates your unique strengths and difficulties or that of your child or care recipient and how we can provide support moving forward.

Step 6

Goal Setting

60-min parent phone consult
After developing the ISP, our therapist will set up a phone consultation to discuss this and set some goals for the therapy journey. (This step would not include a child or care recipient.) These goals can align with your goals or family’s goals and/or NDIS plan goals.

Note that Formal Assessments, ISPs and goal setting may be scheduled after a few initial sessions to give your therapist the chance to get to know you, your child or care recipient and build a relationship with them.

Step 7

Ongoing Support

70-min sessions
(50-mins face to face and 20-mins for clinical documentation)
Following the Goal Setting appointment, it’s time to put the therapy plan into place with ongoing support from your therapist. In these sessions, you and the therapist will work together to support you or your child or care recipient as they develop their skills, build confidence and work towards their goals (while having fun!).

Wait times

Average First Appointment Times

Wait times for our services vary, but we will always try to offer you an intake appointment as soon as possible.

Please note that our after-school sessions (starting at 3:15pm) always fill up first, so if you prefer this time, you may need to wait longer than average.

If you are prepared to come in for a last minute cancellation (within 48 hours of the appointment start time) please let us know and we will prioritise you for an appointment. Alternatively, our Allied Health Assistant service is a great option to get started while you wait. Reach out if you’d like more info on this service.
