Inside Out Therapy is committed to providing a high-quality therapy service to our clients. Your privacy and confidentiality will be treated with the utmost respect and all personal information will be protected from the moment you contact us.

Our privacy and confidentiality statement outlines our ongoing obligations to you in regard to how we manage your personal information.

Inside Out Therapy complies with the requirements of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

Collecting Personal Information

Personal information is information that is provided by the client or their parent/ caregiver, which identifies an individual and includes relevant health information, to help assist the therapy services we provide. Examples of personal information we collect includes:
  • Contact details for clients and their representatives or family members
  • Details for emergency contacts and people authorised to act on behalf clients
  • Assessments, reviews and reports from other stakeholders
  • Consent forms
  • Feedback and complaints
  • Incident reports
Personal information is collected in various forms such as; documentation, consultations, by telephone, by email, from other stakeholders, and from third parties. When we collect personal information, we will explain to you why we are collecting the information and how we plan to use it.

Disclosing Personal Information

Your personal information will only be disclosed:
  • To prevent or lessen a serious and imminent threat to the life or health of you or another person
  • To outside external stakeholders the client/ parent/caregiver permission
  • With written consent from a person with lawful authority
  • When required by law, or to fulfil legislative obligations such as mandatory reporting

Storing Personal Information

Your personal information will be stored in a manner that relatively protects it from misuse and loss and from unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure.

When your personal information is no longer needed for the purpose for which it was acquired, we will take reasonable steps to destroy or permanently delete the information from our system. We will retain and dispose of your personal information in accordance with our Privacy and Confidentiality Policy and Procedure.
