Occupational Therapist

Rahni O’Dea

Hello, my name is Rahni, and I am an Occupational Therapist here at Inside Out Therapy. I always knew growing up I wanted to pursue a career in the health field where I could spend my workday helping people. When I realised connecting with children came naturally, I knew paediatric OT was for me!

Prior to occupational therapy, I have also worked in childcare supporting children with a variety of needs and diagnoses including Autism, ADHD, Anxiety, Sensory Processing Disorder and Global Developmental Delay. I am very passionate about early intervention and using evidence-based approaches to work alongside children and families to achieve their goals. Fostering a collaborative and strengths-based approach is important to me, ensuring OT is meaningful to each individual and that children can engage in a safe and supported play-based environment.

I have experience working in transdisciplinary and multidisciplinary teams, involving multiple stakeholders to provide holistic care in support for children. I am also looking forward to completing the Developmental, Individual-differences, Relationship-based (DIR/Floortime) model training this coming month to integrate in my approach to OT.

In my spare time, I love reading light-hearted books, spending time at the beach or outdoors and trying to find the best coffee around! I am family and friend-orientated so spending my weekends with the people I love visiting new cafes or playing card games is what brings me the most joy.
