Hello, my name is Liz and according to my boys I’m the best in my family at doing the voices in stories and building cubbys!
I love my job and feel so privileged to get to work with our wonderful kids and their beautiful families. I am passionate about play and it’s MAGICAL properties for learning, skill development and connection. I follow a play based, child lead approach where each child’s interests and unique nervous system is respected and getting what it needs to feel good and learn. I love enabling children to feel understood, accepted and safe to be themselves.
I was an Allied Health Assistant primarily based in the community for 1.5 years before transitioning into my role as an Occupational Therapy at our Kallangur clinic.
I have completed a certificate of Neurodivergent affirming practices, and undertaken training courses in Polyvagal Theory, Sensory Integration approaches, Interoception and Emotional Integration, Handwriting interventions, and Nuro affirming approaches to feeding challenges and ARFID. Prior to Inside Out Therapy I worked within the disability equipment sector.
When I have the chance my favourite thing to do is head up to the beach with my family for swimming, digging, building (and crashing!) sand castles and of course getting some ice cream! I don’t have a green thumb, but I love gardening anyway. I really love that sense of awe and freedom play brings so I believe I was destined to be a kids OT!
