Hello, my name is Kate, when thinking about what career I wanted to pursue I knew I wanted a profession where I could help children reach their full potential, which led me to find Occupational Therapy. I knew this was the profession was the right fit for me when I discovered the amazing role that therapy animals had and how they could incorporate into my therapy sessions.
With experience working with a diverse range of individuals, including those with autism, ADHD, anxiety, sensory processing disorder, global development delay, complex care needs, downs syndrome and intellectual disabilities, my goal is to empower children and their families through engaging therapeutic interventions that are both enjoyable and impactful.
I use fun strength-based approaches in my sessions to help children and their families achieve their goals to create positive and lasting change. I am enthusiastic about fostering inclusion and embracing a neurodiverse affirming approach into my practice.
I am excited to complete the DIR Floortime training in April 2024 and to continue enhancing my skills throughout the years to come.
Outside of work, I find joy in watching the sunset, spending time at the beach, immersing myself in a good book, creating memories with friends and family and doing anything with animals. I am eager to making a positive impact and contribute my skills and enthusiasm to help others. I look forward to playing a meaningful role in the lives of those clients and families I get the pleasure of working with in the future.
