We're different

Why Inside Out Therapy?

We take a different approach than other therapy services you may have come across. Our key differences are that:
  • We only work with children — which is why we’ve designed our spaces to be non-clinical, fun, and sensory-friendly.
  • Our therapists specialise in neurodivergent kids (and their families) and we are proudly neurodiverse-affirming.
If we sound like the kind of therapists you’ve been looking for, we’d love to hear from you.
FAQS

Learn More About Our Therapy Services

If your child is neurodivergent (this may include autism, ADHD, trauma, or dyslexia), it means that they think, learn, process, behave, and experience the world differently to neurotypical people (the majority of people).

A neurodiverse-affirming therapist does not seek to change who your child is or get them to act differently so that they appear more neurotypical. Instead, they accept, celebrate, and accommodate your child's differences. But being neurodiverse in a world that is mostly designed for neurotypical people can be challenging.

Our therapy finds ways to support your child, empower them, advocate for them, build skills, and build connections — so that they can better understand themselves, achieve their goals, and be their authentic self.
An Allied Health Therapist generally works under the care of a trained and registered Occupational Therapist. They may be training to be a therapist themselves (and have completed sufficient study hours) or have completed a portion of their allied health degree. An Allied Health Therapist may be recommended if your child could do with some extra hands-on support to help them achieve their goals. They’ll often work with your child to implement therapies in a range of environments, from home and school to various activities in the community.
If your child’s been having difficulty at child care or school, support from an OT, speechie, or counsellor can make a difference. We can understand the triggers, work on building skills, consult with their teacher, advocate for their needs, and recommend tools that may help.
If your child is having a hard time at home, an OT or counsellor can bring a fresh perspective and new ideas to help create a safe, supportive home environment. We take a whole-family approach so that we can offer support that helps parents, siblings, and the whole family connect.
Yes! We regularly work with self-managed and plan-managed clients, and can set up a regular schedule based on your goals and budget. We can offer recommendations, reports, and letters to help you make the most of your funding. We can also provide detailed reports that help support your plan review, communicating your child's needs, and recommending appropriate supports (including assistive technology (AT) prescription.

We can provide therapeutic supports that fit within the funded categories and goals, including capacity building, increased social and community participation, improved relationships, improved health and wellbeing, improved learning, improved life choices, and improved daily living.
If you’re having a hard time finding therapies that engage your child, you’re not alone. The right therapy makes all the difference. We offer a range of options to make therapy fun, engaging, and relevant for your child, from play-focused rooms, group programs, and therapy dogs to rock walls, crafts, and challenging games. Most importantly, we responsively follow your child’s lead throughout each session.
If you’re not sure about what you need just yet, that’s ok! Our process starts with a detailed questionnaire to help direct you to the best fit for your child’s current support needs.
It’s easy to book with us — but we do have a process in place to make sure we’re the right fit for each other (learn more about how we work). Start with our online enquiry form. Or if you would like further information about our services, please feel free to call or email our admin team for assistance.

Once you have completed our questionnaires, we’ll get back to you via email to confirm that we have received your info and let you know your next steps. Please don’t forget to check your junk folder!
