Our Paired Peer sessions involve matching your child with another child to attend therapy sessions together. We always choose children of a similar age and interests who we believe will work well together.
Peer sessions include just two children. This makes them ideal for kids that aren’t ready for a group setting just yet but will benefit from working alongside a fellow peer to build skills (and have fun!) in a safe, supportive environment.
These sessions are one of our favourite ways to link kids and families together. If you’re interested in a Paired Peer session but we haven’t seen your child recently, you’ll first need to book an initial assessment or clinic session so we can make sure peer therapy is right for you.
Group sessions are an amazing opportunity for your child to make friends, have fun, develop their interests, and feel a sense of belonging. It’s also an opportunity to practise social skills in a safe and supportive environment.
Programs we’ve offered in the past include prep readiness, painting workshops, tie dye workshops, and polymer clay workshops.
Our group occupational therapy programs are usually scheduled several months in advance, so contact us if you’d like to find out about what we have coming up!
We offer a range of funding options. Many of our clients have NDIS funding (we accept self-managed or plan-managed funding only). If you do not have an NDIS plan, you may be able to get a GP referral to help cover the cost of therapy through a Mental Health Care Plan which can attract a Medicare rebate for up to 5-10 sessions per year. We also accept GP Medicare Plans (often known as Team Care Arrangements), as long as your plan has at least three sessions nominated to one of our therapists. You may also be entitled to rebates on your Health Fund. All of our fees are in line with the current NDIS pricing guide. We welcome all enquiries about pricing.
Currently, our group sessions include a pre-teen boys group, tween girls group, teen boys group, and teen girls group. Plus, we also run special peer-based sessions over the school holidays.
All our group sessions are currently held at Burpengary (due to its larger capacity). However, we can offer peer-based (2-to-1) sessions at both Burpengary and Kallangur.
We can accommodate up to five kids in each group occupational therapy session.
Each peer session includes two children and one therapist.
Our regular group sessions are available after school and during school holidays. We reserve our most popular appointment times so that more kids can attend our group therapy!
